Owner/President/Head Coach
Conrad Kohrs founded ConKohrs Inc. DBA ConKohrs
Barracudas in 2009 and was the head coach of Barracuda Aquatics
from 1997 through 2009. Barracuda swimmers achieved numerous
age group top 100 rankings in the U.S., three top sixteen rankings
in the U.S. and a Pacific Swimming Record during this time.
Barracudas achieved qualifying standards for Senior Nationals,
Junior Nationals, Sectionals, The North American Challenge Cup Team
and the Western Zones All-Star team with many swimmers continuing
on to have illustrious college and senior level USA Swimming
careers as scholar-athletes.
Conrad was nominated for the distinguished George
Haines Pacific Swimming Senior Coach of the Year Award in
2002-2003. He has served as a coach for the Pacific Swimming
Western Zones All-Star Team (2004) and has coached with the
Regional Zone I South All-Stars (2003). He received his B.A.
degree in Political Science, and swam for Kenyon College, the men's
division III national swimming champions for the past 31
consecutive years. Conrad became head coach of the Carmel
High School Boy’s team in 1995 and has led the Padres to
league championships in 1997, ’98, ’99, ’00,
’05, ’06, ’07, ’08, '09 & 2010; while
compiling an overall record of 107-15 during the past 15
seasons. He led the Padres to 2 top ten rankings in the U.S.
for high schools of 900 and less and has coached several
All-American relays and individuals. Conrad was Co-Head
Coach, with Spencer Shiriashi of Maui Swim Club while coaching the
Hawaii State short course champions in 1994. He also served
as assistant coach to John Apgar for Team Santa Monica in Santa
Monica, California.
Conrad lives in Carmel, owns a Weimaraner and
continues to immerse himself in all water-sports. His
favorite novelists are Jack London, Paul Theroux, Peter Mathiesson,
Earnest Hemingway and Ian Baker. He loves to travel, has a
keen interest for surf and diverse cultures and geographies
throughout the world.
