ConKohrs Barracudas' College Swimmers Open Season

 


ConKohrs Barracudas’Todd Langland, Blake Langland, Emma Hunt & Jessica Schanzer Contribute to College Swimming Teams Mid Season Successes.

 

Todd Langland is a senior at UC San Diego and is ranked 2nd all-time in school history for the 50 free (20.33), 3rd in the 100 y free (44.87) and 8th in the 200 with a 1:40.68.  Todd is a Carmel High School graduate and recently competed for the Tritons at the Toshiba Classic held in Long Beach , CA .  His time of 44.87 in the 100 free placed 8th and is the current top time in the nation for NCAA division II swimmers.  BrotherBlake Langland is a sophomore at UCSD, Carmel High graduate and swam with his brother on the UCSD record setting 200 freestyle relay last season.  Blake also holds the 5th best time in UCSD history (20.70) for the 50 freestyle.  His time of 21.00 in the 50 and 46.09 in the 100 at the Toshiba Classic are consideration qualifying times for the 2010 NCAA II Championships.  Emma Hunt is a graduate of Carmel High School and a freshman at UC Santa Barbara.  She helped lead her team to 1st place at the Finis Collegiate Invitational also held at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach .  Emma swam to season and personal best times; placing 4rth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:01.88, 11th in the 200 freestyle with a 1:53.66 and tied for 15th in the 100 with a 53.61.  Jessica Schanzer is a freshman at Connecticut College and opened her season with performances in the 100 backstroke, 3rd at Williams College with a 1:03.24; 4rth in the 100 free versus the Coast Guard Academy (57.74) and 2nd in the 50 free with a 25.74 in a meet with Tufts University.
